Narcotics Control Bureau regularly organizes online and offline events such as drug disposal, International day against drug abuse, International meetings, drives on digital solutions to monitor problems of drug trafficking, drives for arrest of absconders etc.

Drug Disposal

The Narcotics Control Bureau aims to destroy all the seized consignments of drugs with a vision to ensure that no seized drugs are circulated back to society by threat of theft or pilferage. The disposal of drugs also strengthens the policy of NCB to give a message to society that the drugs are of zero value to human life or society. Drugs having medicinal use such as opium, morphine, codeine & thebaine are disposed by transferring to Govt. Opium and Alkaloid Works under the Chief Controller of Factories. Other pharmaceutical formulations/controlled substance having legitimate use, if not expired/loose are disposed by way of auction else are destroyed. NCB regularly destroys the seized drug as per procedure.

Attari celebrates World Anti Drug Day

On 26th June 2022, about 25 thousand tourists took anti drug e pledge a special initiative by Narcotics Control Bureau to Sensitize the mass against harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them for a Drug Free India

The National Policy on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is based on the Directive Principles, contained in Article 47 of the Constitution of India, which direct the State to endeavour to bring about prohibition of the consumption, except for medicinal purposes, of intoxicating drugs injurious to health.
